When is a hand-washing station required?
A hand-washing station is required by OSHA 1926.51(f) where construction workers handle paints, coatings or other contaminants. The City of Boulder requires sinks at events with food vendors. For private parties it is optional but strongly recommended when guests eat with their hands.

Hand-washing station questions
Does the hand-washing station come with water?
Every station arrives filled with fresh water, soap and paper towels. Job-site stations are drained and refilled at each weekly service.
How many people can use one hand-washing station?
Two people wash at the same time. One fill covers about 350 uses, which is enough for a 150-guest event of up to 8 hours.
Can a hand-washing station freeze in winter?
Fresh water freezes below 32°F. From November through March we recommend heated stations or placing the station inside a heated trailer or building entry. Ask when you book.
Do I need a hand-washing station if I have a unit with a sink inside?
A unit with a sink inside covers handwashing for that unit's users. For events with a buffet or for 100+ guests, a separate station still helps because guests can wash without waiting for the toilet.
